Some meals don't need much to be special.
Fresh fish, good olive oil, lemon and herbs are all you need for this simple Mediterranean recipe inspired by long lunches on the Albanian Riviera.
Light, fresh and full of flavor — exactly the kind of food that belongs by the sea. 🌊
Ingredients
- 2 whole sea bass or sea bream, cleaned
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lemon
- 2 garlic cloves
- Fresh parsley
- Fresh rosemary or thyme
- Sea salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Cherry tomatoes, optional
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the fish
Pat the fish dry and make a few shallow cuts in the skin. Season inside and outside with sea salt and black pepper.
- 2
Add the Mediterranean flavors
Fill each fish with lemon slices, garlic and fresh herbs. Drizzle generously with extra virgin olive oil.
- 3
Grill
Place the fish on a hot grill or grill pan and cook for around 5–7 minutes per side, depending on size, until cooked through and beautifully golden.
- 4
Finish with lemon
Remove from the grill and squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fish.
- 5
Serve
Serve immediately with fresh salad, grilled vegetables or crusty bread.
Carla's Tip
Keep it simple. Fresh fish doesn't need a heavy sauce. Good olive oil, fresh lemon and herbs are enough — especially when you're eating somewhere with a view of the sea. 🌊
